Burnley teen charged with Class A drugs offences following police foot chase

A Burnley teenage has today been charged with drugs offences after being arrested by police.

Mohammed Dar (18) from Taylor Street, attempted to run away when approached by the local neighbourhood officer on Daneshouse Road but was quickly detained.

When searched, Dar was found to be in possession of a large amount of cash, a “burner” phone and two large wraps of suspected heroin.

Dar was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

After interviews and further enquiries today the Crown Prosecution have authorised charges for possession with intent to supply Class A Heroin and two further charges of being concerned in the supply of Class A heroin and crack cocaine between January and August 2020.

These two further charges relate to evidence obtained by the Targeted Crime Team over a period of time.

Dar has been remanded in police custody and will appear before the magistrates' court tomorrow morning.
