A BURNLEY man remains in a critical condition in hospital a week after he was savagely attacked and left in a front garden.

Police have renewed their appeal for information after the 48-year-old victim was discovered outside a house in Standen Hall Drive, Briercliffe, at 8-10 p.m. last Friday.

He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital suffering from a fractured skull but was transferred to the Royal Preston Hospital where his condition has not changed.

The victim had been in Burnley town centre on the day of the attack but detectives said it is not known who he was with or how he got back to Briercliffe.

He is 6ft. 6in. tall and of slim build with short dark receding hair. He was wearing a blue/green fleece, dark trousers and dark coloured shoes.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the man on the day he was attacked or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time he was assaulted.

A 17-year-old boy arrested earlier this week on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone with imformation should contact Burnley CID on 01282 472144 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
