Burnley FC ‘Suicide Squad’ hooligans guilty after derby clash

HOOLIGANS from Burnley’s notorious Suicide Squad are due to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court next week for their part in derby day disturbances on October 19th, 2009.

Fourteen men pleaded or were found guilty of conspiring to commit violent disorder following attempts to attack a pub full of Blackburn Rovers fans following the Clarets’ 3-2 defeat at Ewood Park 15 months ago.

A further eight men were found not guilty of the offence which happened on Preston Old Road near the Station pub in Cherry Tree, Blackburn.
