Burnley drink-driver caught more than twice the limit

A drink-driver, more than twice the limit, was banned for 36 months by Burnley magistrates.

The court was told how Peter Riley (56) was caught in Barclay Avenue, in the town, on on January 25. He blew 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at the police station. The legal limit is 35.

The defendant, of Burdett Street, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £120, with a £32 victim surcharge and £85.
