THE following crimes have been reported to police in Burnley:

• Thieves stole a knife with a 5in. blade and a K-Swiss sports bag containing clothing and DVDs from a house in Boundary Street, Burnley.

• Bikes worth £20,000 were stolen from a house in Lowerhouse Lane, Burnley. The haul included an orange Cove mountain bike, brown Cove mountain bike, orange Genesis ID mountain bike, a red specialist road bike, grey and blue Sim mountain bike, black Santa Cruz mountain bike, S Works mountain bike and a blue and white Rocky Mountain bike.

• Jewellery, electrical goods and a loaf of bread worth £1,685 were taken from a house in Hinton Street, Burnley.

• Thieves have stolen £8,000 from a car parking meter at Burnley General Hospital. Police said the meter, in Casterton Avenue, had been tampered with allowing coins to be siphoned from the cash box inside. The money was stolen between February and June this year but the incident has only just come to light.

• A mountain bike worth £2,500 was stolen from a workshop in Victory House, Lowerhouse Lane.
