Arsonists strike in Pendle torching seven cars in two nights

Arsonists were out in force again last night in Pendle where three cars were set alight.

In the early hours of Tuesday four cars were torched across the town and last night three cars were the targets.

The first call out last night came at 1-30am where a car had been set on fire at the junction of Baker Street and Rook Street in Nelson.

Crews spent an hour at the scene battling the flames using a hosreel jet and breathing apparatus.

Twenty minutes later they were called to Clayton Street car park after 999 reports came in of two vehicles well alight. They spent another hour at the scene tackling the flames using two hosereels.

Joint investigations between the fire authority and Lancashire Police have now been launched into the incidents along with the attacks from Tuesday.
