Arsonists strike four times in Pendle in early hours of morning

Arsonists were out in force in Pendle in the early hours of this morning, setting fire to four cars in less than two hours.

The first call out came just after 1-30am to Camden Street where they found the first car well alight on the roadway.

Just 10 minutes later a second 999 call came to a car on fire in Westmoreland Street. Retained crews from Padiham attended this blaze.

The third fire happened at 2-52am in Fern Bank Street and crews from Nelson again raced to the scene. As the were putting that blaze out the fourth car blaze was reported in May Street.

Fire and police have now launched a joint investigation into the incidents.
