Crash on M65 sliproad causes traffic chaos

TWO people were hurt in a crash on the M65 Junction 12 sliproad at the Nelson/Brierfield boundary during Friday morning rush hour, causing traffic problems.

A van and two cars were involved in the crash at the top end of the eastbound exit, and police closed the sliproad so all the traffic had to make it way through to Junction 13 to get off.

Police were not happy some drivers made their way round officers putting cones down at the bottom of the sliproad, and made their way up it. That meant a dozen extra cars were stuck on the exit. And one pedestrian left a car on the hard shoulder and walked up the sliproad!

Ambulance crews were quickly at the scene and two people were taken to hospital because of possible neck or back injuries. But they are not thought to be too seriously injured.
