“He has gone through a great deal in the last 12 months relating to allegations made against him which were rejected by a jury at Preston Crown Court. As respectors of the rule of law, we recognise that Nigel has been exhonerated and now should continue to represent the Ribble Valley with distinction as he has done in the past The UK is a tolerant multi-racial society broad minded which rejects discrimination of all types and we see this as the way forward for our society.

“We as a local party can now get back to the real issues and campaign to elect a Conservative government in 2015 as well councils in Ribble Valley and South Ribble, play our part in securing the future of the Union in the Scottish referendum and make sure the public have a refereundum on the future of EU membership in 2017. The present government has grappled with some very difficult financial problems and steered the ship of state off the rocks of high spend and incompetent financial mangement which marked its predecessor. Nigel will now continue to play his part in that process and be a strong voice for the constituency in matters like excessive housing planning applications which has been one of the major issues in the area over the last 3 years.”
