A concert in memory of a Burnley teacher who died from pancreatic cancer will take place on Sunday.

Carols and Cornets, by Pendle Voices, will take place at Briercliffe Road Church in Burnley at 7-30pm and will pay tribute to Mrs Paula Helm, who died last year aged 49.

Mrs Helm was the wife of conductor of the band Mr Graham Helm and a teacher St Mary’s Primary School in Burnley where she was known as Mrs Giltrow-Shaw. The proceeds from the concert will go to the Paula Helm Memorial Fund for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Also performing will be the 2nd Rossendale Scout Brass Band who perform regularly across the North of England.

Pendle Voices normally perform at Brierfield Methodist Church, but the building is currently out of service due to having the roof replaced, and the remainder of the proceeds will go towards the Brierfield Methodist Church Roof Appeal.

Tickets are available by calling 01282 424039 or 777947 and cost £7 (£8 on the door) students £4, including refreshments.
