Concert series keeps air ambulance in the air

THE first concert in a new series of “Musical Extravaganza” evenings at the Unitarian Church in Padiham began with a £750 cheque presentation from part of the proceeds of the previous series to North West Air Ambulance.

The regular charity concerts are attended by music lovers from a wide area, including many from the Ribble Valley. At the latest event, talented organist Chris Powell gave a concert to an appreciative audience, playing his impressive Roland Atelier organ and the church’s own Phoenix.

Also during the evening, a further cheque for £1,000 from the reserves of the now disbanded Gilbert and Sullivan Society was presented to the Air Ambulance. The next concert, on November 12th, will be given by internationally-acknowledged Besses O’th Barn Brass Band. Tickets, costing £7, are available from 01282 773336 or [email protected]
