Colne teacher dies after cancer battle
Ss John Fisher and Thomas More RC High School in Colne has been rocked by the death of 44-year-old teacher, Louise Whalley, who lost her battle with cancer on Friday, September 22nd.
The languages teacher joined the school in 1998, going on to become head of languages in 2006, and is survived by two daughters aged just seven and eight.
The sad news of Louise's passing comes just 10 months after another Fisher More teacher, Claire Addington (40) died at her home after taking the day off from work with a virus before being found by her husband, Gavin.
"It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing away of a dear colleague and friend, Mrs Louise Whalley," read a statement from the school. "Death is not the extinguishing of the light; it is turning down the lamp because the dawn has come.
"Thank you for the treasured memories of Louise that will forever enrich our lives now she has been called to live and love with [God]," it continued.
