Colne restaurant gets a new home

A FAMED Colne Chinese restaurant has found a new home, thanks to a help from PEARL2, the joint venture company between Barnfield Investment Properties Ltd and Pendle Council

Barnfield Construction is renovating China Garden’s former premises in Shackleton Hall into a new home for Housing Pendle along with a Victorian-style retail arcade.

Owner Chi Yip said: “After being long established within Shackleton Hall we are excited to move into our new shop at 33 Albert Road. Our new premises will give us extra room to grow our business and continue to service the taste buds of Colne and further afield.”

The move has been assisted by PEARL2 to regenerate two empty properties in Albert Road and also facilitate Shakleton Hall to be brought back to life after many years of neglect.

Gareth Smith, Head of Regeneration at Barnfield Construction, said “We fully appreciated right from the start that it was imperative to embrace Chi and Sarah’s business and understand the importance of that to the community in Colne.

“With the help of County Councillor Mike Calvert, who helped negotiate the deal on behalf of Chi and Sarah Yip, we have reached a solution that benefits all parties.”
