COLNE: Police name woman found dead in flat

DETECTIVES have named a woman who was found dead at an address in Colne in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were called to the flat in Centaur Court, in Hawley Street, shortly after midnight and on arrival, they found the body of 23-year-old Anna Banks.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being questioned by detectives.

Police are also appealing for information about Anna that may help with their investigations.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Neil Hunter said: “I would appeal to anyone who knew Anna or anyone who may have spent time with her in the last three or four days to come forward and contact police.

“I would obviously renew my appeal to anyone who may have been in the Centaur Court area last night who may have witnessed something or have any information that can assist the inquiry then I would ask them to contact us.”
