Pendle Leisure Trust won the accolade as Best British Blues Festival in 2011 and was runner-up in 2012 and 2013.

But the trust would like to return to the top slot – especially with this year being the festival’s 25th anniversary and after being crowned the best Blues Festival in Europe last year.

Festival organiser Alison Goode said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated again. This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary and it is nice to be recognised. We hope all those people who enjoy the festival year after year will again take the time to vote for us.”

The nomination process has been conducted and the finalists in each of the 18 categories have been chosen. Now it is up to the public to choose their favourites.

The closing date is June 30th.

Colne’s Festival is up against five others in the Best British Blues Festival category – Blues On The Farm, Carlisle Blues and Rock Festival, Hebden Bridge Blues Festival, Broadstairs Blues Bash and Ealing Blues Festival.

For the second year, the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne on Sunday, August 24th.

This year’s festival will see more than 600 artistes performing at eight official venues over the four days.
