Cold snap set to continue in East Lancs

After a weekend of sub-zero temperatures, ice, hail and snow, weather forecaster have predicted the cold snap is to continue this week and drivers are being warned about road conditions.

The Met Office has warned that sleet and snow could gradually in from the west by dawn, and tonight will be “very cold with clear spells, a hard frost and localised fog”.

Tomorrow will again be a cold day with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will gradually edging east, with some accumulations likely, especially over hills.

The outlook for Wednesday to Friday is for outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow on Wednesday and remaining cold, especially overnight.

Showers will ease with sunny spells for most of Thursday and Friday will see further rain, sleet and hill snow spreading east.
