Civic opening for Burnley's poppy shop

The countdown is on to Remembrance Sunday and the poppy shop in Burnley is now open for business.

Run by members of the Burnley branch of the Royal British Legion, the shop this year is situated in Howe Walk in the town centre.

Burnley’s Mayor Coun. Jeff Sumner cut the ribbon at the official opening of the shop which this year will be run by Legion member Ken Nield and his wife Barbara assisted by their daughter, Jenny Guest.

The shop is selling tradtional poppies, wreaths and other items associated with Remembrance Sunday.

The shop will be open until Saturday, November 12th from 10am to 4pm.
