Citheroe man accused of having sex with 13-year-old girl
A 32-YEAR-OLD Clitheroe man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates facing allegations relating to his relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
Philip Stevenson, of Taylor Street, faces six charges of penetrative sexual activity with the girl starting in March, when she was 13, until the present time. The girl is now 14.
Philippa White (prosecuting) said the girl’s mother had been aware of the alleged relationship and had tried to bring it to an end. She eventually went to the police when she discovered it was continuing.
Stevenson, who gave no indication of plea, was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he is due to appear on November 9th.
