THE Friends of Victoria Park, Nelson, invite you to join them in a festive wreath making workshop on Saturday.

During the day, they will be making wreaths from greenery found in Victoria Park.

Aimed at adults, the workshop will run in the park’s pavilion from 10 a.m. to noon.

There’s a charge of £5 per wreath to cover materials used, and refreshments will be provided.

Carole Devlin, chairman of the Friends group, said: “The wreaths we’ll be making are around eight inches in diameter, perfect for hanging on your front door this Christmas.

“Someone from the local college with many years’ experience in horticulture will be offering expert advice on how to make a traditional Christmas wreath.

“We’ll have plenty of ribbons and decorations for you to add a personal touch to your wreath too.”

The workshop has been organised by the Friends in conjunction with Pendle Council’s Parks department.

Coun. Jonathan Eyre, who represents parks in Pendle, said: “The Friends of Victoria Park organise some excellent events and workshops. I hope this one is as well supported as others they have run recently.

“With Christmas not long off now, it offers a chance to make a wreath to trim up your home ready for the festive season.”
