Burnley's Gannow Community Centre is set to host a Christmas Cracker event.

A unique festive event that aims to bring the whole community together will take place in Burnley next week.

A host of VIP guests will be making an appearance, including Father and Mother Christmas along with a group of elves, and a festive chocolate Santa hunt will be held.

Characters from the hit Disney film Frozen will also be meeting visitors along with the Minions from Despicable Me and even Spiderman may swing by.

Local youngsters will be putting on a dance performance and a belly dancer will give a demonstration. Christmas carols will be sung by a local choir and the Juice Samba Band will be playing in and around the centre in Adamson Street.

Activities for all ages are being organised by Pyramid and Kreative Kapers, groups who both regularly attend the centre.

A Christmas craft market will showcase the talents of local crafters and artistes and includes a wide range of cards, hand-made gifts and decorations.

Tasty festive themed food will also be on the menu.

There will be a selection of competitions on the day and a chance to win a prize in the Creative Arts contest.

Entrants are asked to submit an entry about their favourite part of Burnley, Pendle or Rossendale.
