John Hargadon, the manager of the pub, has organised the charity event for this Saturday, October 1st, and is aiming to whip up interest and ensure that the organisers can raise as much in the way of funds.

The charity event will be raising money for the Men United campaign, a movement that has attracted significant interest and support from the likes of Bill Bailey, Mark Bright, and Michael Parkinson, which looks to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which is the second most common cancer in the UK and the most common amongst British men.

“It’s a great cause to try [and] raise money for,” said John. “We have raised £400 so far.”

As well as a fancy dress theme of ‘back to school’ in full swing, the event will feature a DJ, and a particularly hirsute member of the bar staff, Kieran Young, will have his dashing locks cut in the name of charity.
