A charity curry evening has raised a tasty £1,700 for homelessness charity Emmaus Burnley.

More than 100 supporters attended the event which also saw a charity raffle, auction and talks from members of the Emmaus Burnley community.

Peter Pike, supporter at Emmaus Burnley, said: “It was another fantastic fund-raising evening at Usha Restaurant and I would like to give sincere thanks to all those who joined us on the night.”

Emmaus Burnley supports formerly homeless people by providing them with a stable home and meaningful work for as long as they need it. The charity operates two social enterprises in Burnley and Accrington with all the money raised used to support the community of people who live and work at Emmaus Burnley.

Stephen Buchanan, Director at Emmaus Burnley, said: “Once again the team at Usha Restaurant pulled out all the stops and hosted another great event in support of Emmaus Burnley. It was nice to see lots of employees from local businesses and organisations get behind this event.”
