Celebration time for these UClan students

UCLan Burnley is celebrating as seven BA (Hons) Education and Professional Studies graduates received first class degrees and eight PGCE students received Grade 1 achievements.

On top of these outstanding achievements, Ayesha Tahseen (20) from Ennismore Street, Burnley, and Victoria Aulton (26) from Waterfoot and have secured their futures with secure job offers following their outstanding results in their Children and Young People’s Services foundation degrees.

Ayesha will begin her new role as a secondary school teacher in a local school, specialising in maths in September and Victoria will begin teaching at Tor View Primary School in Rossendale.

Kristina Wait (31) from Briercliffe also received excellent grades despite working full-time throughout her degree and will now progress to study a BA (Hons) Early Years Teaching.

Kristina said: “I’m so pleased with my results and being able to progress to study for a degree in Early Years Teaching is a dream come true.”

Tutor Saima Sharif said: “I’m incredibly proud of our students for gaining such an amazing set of results, but also for taking the initiative and securing their futures so quickly.

“I am confident they’ll enjoy every success in their careers and I wish them all the best with their futures.”

Alison Cameron Brandwood, assistant principal of University Studies, said: “The first class results and professional opportunities our School of Health and Social Care has achieved this year is exceptional.

“Our graduates’ achievements are a testament to our students’ hard work and the outstanding support of their tutors.
