Four resident football fans at The Grove Care Home in Burnley have enjoyed a tour of Turf Moor, reminiscing about their decades as supporters and wowing the tour guide with facts even she did not know.
The excursion to Burnley's home stadium was organised by the care home for Mr David Hargreaves, Mr Bill Blanch, Mr Brian Adamson, and Mr Ken Simpson, all of whom have been football fans for decades and were eager to have a look around the club.
A tour of the Premier League football ground had been arranged for them and they thoroughly enjoyed exploring the ground and the team's facilities.
The tour guide was surprised by the knowledge the group had of Burnley Football Club as the quartet impressed her to the point that she stated that they had even taught her some interesting facts.
David Hargreaves, a retired Burnley Youth team player, stated that it had been a great morning and had rekindled some memories of his youth. He also stated that the players of today are pampered, after he had looked around the changing rooms and found the players' kit all laid out for them, even the underclothes.
Brian Adamson also enjoyed the tour but felt he could not raise his arms and cheer (as shown in the picture) when they were shown the pitch as he is a Blackburn Rovers supporter.
The morning ended with a stop off for lunch before returning to The Grove Care Home on Owen Street in Rosegrove.
