Calico confirms 62 job losses

Burnley company Calico Enterprises has revealed it will regrettably make 62 people redundant following the end of a county-wide contract.

Calico Enterprise confirmed that there will be 62 job losses as a result of the end of a contract to deliver the Floating Support service.

The service, which is delivered on behalf of Lancashire County Council, supports up to 2,000 people each year across Lancashire to prevent them becoming homeless.

It involves helping people with managing their home, dealing with money issues and resolving any other problems which may mean they risk losing their home.

A Calico spokesman said: “We would like to clarify that these losses do not affect any other services delivered by The Calico Group, including Calico Homes, the Older People’s Service, and or any other programmes which we will continue to deliver.

“We are doing everything we can to redeploy and support staff at this difficult time by offering guidance and alternative employment opportunities.”
