A shortlist of candidates has been drawn up to choose the new chief executive of Burnley Council.
The council is searching for a new person to lead the organisation following the departure of former chief executive Steve Rumbelow who has taken up a post in Rochdale.
A long-list of candidates have already gone through a technical assessment conducted by the chief executive of another local authority and a short list was drawn up based on those assessments.
The short-listed candidates will undergo assessment and interview during the next week.
A decision to appoint the new chief executive will be made at an extraordinary meeting of the full council on Monday, January 26th.
Heather Brennan, the council’s head of people and development, said: “The post was advertised nationally and we were very happy with the response and the high calibre of the candidates.”
