Villagers in Hapton can have their say on proposals for new homes in the village.
Calico Homes is proposing to build nine new affordable rental homes in Hapton.
They will include eight two bedroom, four person houses on Back Church Street and one two bedroom, three person bungalow on Water Street.
The proposals will be shown at a consultation on Thursday from 3pm to 7pm at Hapton Methodist Church, where residents can also learn more about apprenticeship opportunities with the company.
A Local Lettings Plan will ensure that preference will be given to people from the area. It will be the latest in Calico’s Affordable Homes and Refurbishment Programme, which aims to build 420 new homes by March 2019.
Work on site, which would be carried out by Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, would take around 12 months and, pending planning approval, would start before Christmas.
The council’s Strategic Housing Market Assessment in 2008 showed a need for affordable accommodation in the area, and recent housing waiting list figures confirm there is still demand.
