A former pub in Burnley Wood is to be converted into four flats.

The Stanley Hotel in Oxford Road, previously owned by Burnley brewery Moorhouse’s, closed in June.

An application has now been submitted by Faisal and Rachel Munif to Burnley Council to create a first storey extension at the back and create four self-contained flats.

In June, Moorhouse’s managing director Mr David Grant said the brewery had been forced to close the pub as it was a “loss-making asset”.

Its closure followed that of the brewery’s other Burnley pub, the General Scarlett, in Accrington Road.

A decision on the application is to be delegated with a consultation expiry date of December 11th.
