Summer has finally arrived, the nights are getting longer, the sun is shining and the UK economy is showing the first signs of recovery.
And the Burnley Express is urging businesses across the borough to make hay while the sun shines – on all fronts!
To mark the arrival of summer and better economic times, your Express has launched a red-hot campaign to boost business across Burnley and beyond.
Our Summer of Love campaign is urging Express readers to help the local economy by spending their money locally, visiting our local tourist attractions and eating out at local pubs and restaurants.
We want to help businesses on our doorsteps kick-start their summer by helping them to find new customers.
Already we have launched our Shop Local initiative, which encourages the people who live in and around Burnley’s myriad communities to spend their cash on their local high street, and support local entrepreneurs by putting their money back into the local community.
Almost EVERY penny of a pound spent with a local business will be ploughed back into improving your town or village.
Burnley Express editor Chris Daggett said: “We are also encouraging businesses to use all aspects of our unrivalled reach – we’re so much more than just a newspaper, and we’re reaching more people than ever before – that can only be good for business.
“The Express has been redesigned, offering a fresh, quality platform for advertisers to promote their businesses and for people willing to spend locally to find what they want.
“And our website www.burnleyexpress.net will be getting a great new look in the next few weeks.
“If Burnley and Padiham thrive, the Burnley Express thrives, too.
“The Summer of Love campaign is about harnessing the feel-good factor of summer, and giving the local economy a welcome turbo-boost into quarters three and four.”
“Our borough has a lot to be proud of and there are some great community events to come in the summer months.
“Let’s all work together to make this a Summer to remember and give our area a real economic boost at the same time.”
