Burnley’s Fitness Factory has closed its doors two months after owner Mick Coupe died.
A spokesman said: “The company’s bankers froze its accounts and the company was effectively closed by the leasing companies repossessing the gym equipment before this could be resolved. His partner Sam and the staff would like to thank all our customers for their loyal patronage. A liquidator has been appointed and all creditors and members will be contacted in due course.”
Fitness Factory opened in late 2006 moving to a larger unit on the same estate in 2012. Dad-of-two Mick (50) was found dead at his home on September 25th. Members who paid up until the end of their contract are being offered the opportunity to finish off their membership at Intershape Gym in Colne.
Owner Margaret Duckworth said: “Mick was a great friend and had a great gym.” Intershape is honouring existing contracts. Call 07817735508.
