The students split into two groups and competed against each other in a bid to see who could raise the most money.

They organised a variety of action packed events including a FIFA and dodgeball tournament, where the winning team took all the proceeds to add to their total, and also held a bake sale, Henna painting and a film night.

Both groups took part in a street collection in Burnley town centre and even found time for a car wash.

Thomas Whitham teacher, Amina Begum said: "The students really enjoyed themselves this week and it really was a great experience for them!"

Each student was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for their efforts by Jo Applegate, fundraiser for Pendleside Hospice.
