Burnley street cordoned off by armed police in stand-off drama - DRAMATIC PHOTOS

ARMED police swooped on a house in Burnley this morning after reports a man was being held at gunpoint.

The scenes unfolded in Ivory Street, off Padiham Road, this morning when police set up a cordon around the mid-terrace house.

Police armed with machine guns and riot shields, as well as dog-handlers, were posted around the house, opposite the Tim Bobbin pub.

After a stand-off lasting several hours four Asian men walked out of the house and were handcuffed.

Police confirmed five men have been arrested and officers were continuing to search the house.
