Burnley spa competes for world title

Burnley’s Woodland Spa has been nominated in the Best New Spa category in the World Luxury Spa Awards, which will see it pitted against luxury destinations from as far afield as Sri Lanka and the United States.

The latest accolade for the spa comes hot on the heels of last year’s UK Day Spa of the Year award at the prestigious Professional Beauty Awards 2014, held in London. It was also awarded Best Spa in the North of England at the Good Spa Guide Live Awards.

Andrew Brown, managing director of Crow Wood Leisure, said: “The Woodland Spa represented a big investment and a big risk, but we felt that we had the location, the staff and the experience to make it happen. In under two years, we’re approaching our 100,000th customer and The Woodland Spa is recognised nationally and internationally. We are being realistic with this competition, we will be up against some of the biggest and most prestigious hotel groups in the world, but we are in the hat and that’s not just a testimony to our facilities but our excellent team of staff.”
