The show, famous for promoting the weird and wonderful of British talent, has been dominated in recent weeks by Padiham singer Andrew Derbyshire and Burnley dancer Steph Morville, both of whom have reached this week’s live semi-finals.

Steph (24) and her co-dancers in Crazy Rouge have wowed the judges with their dizzingly colourful and spectacular routines.

He said: “It has been a long road but I’ve enjoyed the journey and learned a lot. It’s a dream to reach the semi-finals and the chance to perform live on national television.

“I’ve chosen to sing one of my favourites songs of the moment. It’s a real showstopper and it suits my voice.”

Showgirl Steph, on the other hand, is just starting out on what could be a long showbusiness career.

One of an eight-strong burlesque group, she said they had something spectacular lined up. She said: “I still live in Burnley so it’s been quite tiring travelling to and from London, but definitely worth it.

“We are planning a mixture of commercial dance and burlesque showgirls. Crazy Rouge are like a family and to win the show would be unbelievable.”

The eventual winner will go on to appear for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show later this year.
