Burnley MP is to become a binman for the day

BURNLEY’S MP is cleaning up the streets – literally.

Gordon Birtwistle will be collecting your rubbish this Thursday after UNISON’s Dave Prentice challenged MPs over the age of 65 to be a binman for the day.

And with this month being Prostate Cancer Awareness Month he will also be raising money for the Prostate Cancer Charity, having already enlisted the support of colleagues in Parliament.

“I was happy to take up Mr Prentice’s challenge and it is for an extremely good cause,” he said. “I hope that many MPs and Peers will make a financial donation to this great charity which carries out work close to my heart.”
