Burnley man (49) faces jail after police seize child sex videos

A BURNLEY man has admitted 13 counts of making indecent images of children.

Andrew James Halsted (49), of Moore Street, pleaded guilty to the charges at Burnley Crown Court.

The charges relate to still images and videos found on his computer in February 2008. His case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report on February 7th.

Mr Stephen Parker (prosecuting) told the court that police confiscated 297 level one pictures, four level two videos, 14 level three pictures, two level three videos, two level four pictures, 36 level four videos and three level five videos. Level five is classed as the most serious. Halsted was made to sign the sex offenders’ register and was given conditional bail.

He was warned all sentencing options were open with “custody a likelihood”.
