The two-day culinary extravaganza will be held on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th in St James’s Street and will include food stalls, cookery demonstrations from BBC fusion chef Aazam Ahmad together with several local chefs, a schools “cook off” competition, entertainment stage and street theatre.

The bandstand area will be transformed into a cookery demonstration theatre where visitors can sit and watch chefs demonstrate their very best culinary skills with performances throughout each day from 11am to 5pm. The stage will also be the focal point for the cook off competition with a guest celebrity taking part. Coun. Shah Hussain, Burnley Council’s Executive member responsible for town centre management, said: “This food festival promises a mouth-watering range of attractions to suit all tastes.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along and enjoy finding out more about food.”

Organisers want to hear from local producers who have the necessary mobile unit equipment suited to these sort of events.

Spaces are limited but any Burnley businesses wishing to take part should contact the festival organisers Avanti Promotions on 01282 899877 for more information or visit www.burnleyfoodfestival.co.uk.
