Burnley Council is working closely with the Library, Burnley Youth Theatre, Burnley College and with partners across the town centre to organise the festival which will bring literature to life.

“Friday will be dedicated to Roald Dahl with a special Charlie and the Chocolate Factory treat at the Burnley Mechanics, and many more surprises. We are really excited about the event and hope it will attract many new visitors to the town centre, as well as encouraging more people, young and old, to enjoy reading for pleasure and to be inspired by the stories they read.”

Catherine added: “A full programme of what will be happening throughout the literary festival will be released very soon, so please check the literary festival website for further details at www.burnleyliteraryfestival.co.uk
