Burnley High School students showed off their artistic skills during a visit to Liverpool’s Tate Gallery.
The Year Sevens were shown around the gallery’s art treasures and took part in a series of challenges in the hands-on art gym.
Pupils made badges and mobile phone decorations as well as undertaking printing and film work. They also made sketches and drawings of the artworks on show.
Teacher David Jeal said: “The students gained a tremendous amount from the visit.
“Our students were praised for their behaviour and, for me, the highlight was when pupils from a grammar school in Cheshire called our students ‘those posh kids from Burnley!’”
