Burnley hairdresser on TV’s ‘Love Machine’ dating show

A BURNLEY hairdresser looking for love has turned to a TV dating game to find her dream man.

Amanda Haworth (25) will appear on prime time Sky Living show “Love Machine” in the hope of meeting her perfect match.

The popular programme, hosted by stars Chris Moyles and Stacey Solomon, sees contestants spin the love machine and pick a date based on first impressions.

Amanda, who co-owns Mode Hair & Beauty in St James’s Street, was in the hot seat and had the choice of eight lucky guys to whisk away on the holiday of a lifetime.

She said: “I am single and I wanted to meet someone. I want to meet a boyfriend. It is nice to just meet people outside your own social circles.

“I have got an agent and just said I am single so if anything comes up just let me know. I went for a casting and got on straight away.

“Going on a show like this is certainly a different way of meeting people.”

She was filmed talking about her worst ever date, famous people she fancied and even sang a song from Labyrinth.

Amanda said: “The show is based on first attractions. It is a big wheel with eight pods and you spin the love machine. It lights a man up and contestants can say ‘your ears are too big’ or ‘I don’t like the way you dress’. You keep spinning until you find someone you like.

Amanda and her date jetted off to a sun-kissed 5-Star golf resort for a romantic holiday away.

She said: “There’s plenty of cringeworthy moments with little bits of love. Some people on the show do end up together. People will just have to wait and see how I get on.”
