Burnley FC in the Community on course for awards hat-trick

Burnley Football Club's official charity, Burnley FC in the Community, has been nominated for the third year running at the North West Football Awards.

In the running for the presitigious Community Club of the Year (Premier League) accolade at the upcoming North West Football Awards, which recognises the exceptional community work, ​Burnley FC in the Community said they were "delighted" with the nomination.

Neil Hart, the charity's CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be nominated for this award. We are extremely proud of the work we’re carrying out in our community on a daily basis and the impact that is being felt in real terms more than ever.

"Burnley FC is a club with community at its heart and for that to be recognised is a real testament to everyone involved with what we do,” Neil added.

The North West Football Awards pay tribute to and recognise those who achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field during the 2016/17 season. They will take place from 6.30pm on Monday, November 13th at Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, in Manchester.

A point of pride for the club, Burnley FC in the Community were winners of the Community Club of the Year award in both 2015 and 2016, and now deliver over 30 projects across the areas of sport, education, inclusion, health, and facilities.

During the 2016/2017 season, BFCitC engaged with over 24,000 people across Burnley and the surrounding areas and invested almost £2m into provision to benefit some of the most vulnerable people in the community.
