Burnley death crash: Man (24) arrested

THE driver of a car which crashed at the weekend leaving the front-seat passenger dead has been arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 24-year-old Burnley man, who sustained a broken collar bone in the crash, has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Passenger Christopher John Roberts (26), of Sedburgh Street, died at the scene following the crash in Eastern Avenue at 10-20 p.m. on Saturday.

Meanwhile police are renewing their appeal for witnesses and have urged anyone with information to contact them on 08451 25 35 45.
