A Burnley car blaze is being treated as suspicious.

Police confirmed they received a call at around 11-15pm last night following a fire in Lower Rosegrove Lane.

Four firefighters were sent out to deal with the incident, and one hose reel was used to put out the flames.

The Ford KA, which had been abandoned, was completely destroyed.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “It was just a shell when we got there. We were there for about half an hour and it took us around 15 minutes to extinguish it.

“There was no driver, as the vehicle had been abandoned.”

And a Lancashire Police spokesman added: “This is being treated as suspicious, and we will be looking into it further.”
