Burnley call centre worker faces five fraud charges

Kamru Zaman, of Healdwood Close, Burnley, faces five charges of using financial details of customers for his own gain and three charges of attempting to use financial details.

Catherine Allan (prosecuting) said Zaman was working for Capita UK at their Darwen call centre at the time of the alleged offences.

He is alleged to have used customers’ bank and card details to obtain benefits for himself. She said one charge involved £4,000, another £2,600, another a Sky account and another the purchase of a takeaway meal.

Zaman was committed on bail to Preston Crown Court.
