Burnley Broadway hits right tune for school

Burnley became Broadway for one night only when friends and family held a school fund-raiser in memory of a special little girl.

The Georgia Fourie Butterfly Fund, which raises money for Holly Grove School, held a Broadway musical themed evening at Byerden House, which raised £2,100 to be spent on ICT equipment for sensory learners and two residential trips.

Katie Wood, from the school, said: “The highlight of the evening was entertainment by Sorella Songbirds who wowed us with musical theatre songs. The Holly Grove Ladies Dance Troupe put on a fantastic performance with family support manager Nick who got into the theatre spirit and donned a shocking Rocky Horror Picture Show outfit.

"Once again we are so overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness off all our supporters. We have been a registered charity for two years now and we seem to be going from strength to strength.

"Georgia died in 2009 and the charity was set up to enhance the lives of the children who attend Holly Grove School. Once again thanks to everyone for all their support."
