A BURNLEY-BORN toddler could be on the verge of winning a national bonny baby competition.
Five-month-old Tiana Luz has made it to the final 40 of The Sun newspaper’s Sunbeams Baby Competition, beating off more than 40,000 other entries.
The tot’s proud mum, Miss Anita Lorenzo, who moved to Whalley from Burnley four years ago, said Tiana was only entered into the competition because of her 13-year-old son Brandon.
“He wanted to enter her for it,” she said. “He let me know about it but he sorted it all out and sent off the entry. I couldn’t believe it when The Sun rang me up to let me know she had made it to the final 40.
“We didn’t really expect to hear anything back. The entries were cut down to 40 by The Sun editor Dominic Mohan and the paper’s Royal photographer, Arthur Edwards. It’s a public vote now for the final 10 so we want as many people as possible to ring in and help her to get there. All our friends and family are still in Burnley so it’d be great if they could vote and see how far we can get her.”
The final winner will be decided by a public vote and anybody wanting to vote for Tiana can do so by ringing 0901 802 0223. The deadline is Thursday.
The winner will receive £1,000 and a photoshoot in London with the Royal Family’s photographer.
