Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy suffered a fractured skull following an assault outside a Burnley nightclub.

Police were called at around 7:20am on Sunday, November 12th after reports of an assault near Vogue on Hammerton Street, with the offender having fled the scene.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses, with the incident having thought to have taken place at around 7am, after which the injured teenager was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious condition.

“An investigation is underway following a wounding in Burnley," said Detective Constable David Gill, of Lancashire Police. “A 17-year-old boy has suffered a fractured skull and remains in hospital undergoing treatment.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or can assist with our enquiries," he added.
