BRIERCLIFFE: Wind farm plan is withdrawn

PARISH COUNCIL – At a meeting of Briercliffe Parish Council, chairman Coun. Roger Frost told residents a planning application, for a small wind farm development above Lane Bottom had been withdrawn.

The applicants have been asked, by borough council officers, to undertake further work on the application. The application still stands and, when the additional work has been completed, further consideration will be given to the application. Unless there are substantial changes, there will be no further public consultation. The chairman apologises for any confusion caused.

BRIERCLIFFE SOCIETY – The Briercliffe Society’s social evening, which should have taken place recently, did not happen as no tickets had been printed. A new date will be arranged for the New Year.

ST JAMES’S PLAYERS – The St James’s Players, who have enjoyed a long association with Briercliffe Parish Church, are to present Francis Durbridge’s “Deadly Nightcap” which is to be directed by Ken Horsfield. at St Luke’s Church Hall, Brierfield. Performances are at 7-30 p.m. every night from Wednesday, November 2nd to Saturday, November 5th. There will be a bar. Tickets are £6 from the box office on 718793.
