IMPERIAL purple set regal tones for the Royal wedding day marriage of a Briercliffe couple who named the day long before Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Jenna Horne and Anthony Hoyle’s own fairytale began beneath the light of a Christmas tree as they opened presents with their son, George.

Romantic Anthony produced a bottle of champagne when he popped the question and gave Jenna a classic gold and diamond ring.

George is now two-and-a-half and sported a set of coat tails for his role as page boy at the wedding in St James’s Church.

Like the Royal couple, Jenna (25) and Anthony (31) have had a long courtship after meeting at the Craven Heifer pub.

Jenna said: “We are both royalists, so we liked the fact that they had picked our day. I was shocked when I first heard, after all there are another 364 days to go at, so why choose ours.

“It is nice though that there is a holiday and that more friends and family can have a day off work to join us.”

Jenna, a theatre practitioner at the Royal Preston Hospital, is the daughter of Michael and Helen Horne.

Anthony, who works for Johnston’s Sweepers Ltd, is the son of Mr and Mrs Peter and Alison Hoyle, of Westbury Close.

The couple were married at 1 p.m. by Canon Rachel Watts, two hours after the Westminster Abbey service conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Their later ceremony gave everyone a chance to see the television coverage and the bride’s closely-guarded secret wedding dress.

Jenna’s gown was ivory with a cathedral train and she carried a shower bouquet of ivory roses, calla lilies and purple lisianthus.

Her bridesmaids wore purple dresses. She was attended by her younger sister, Jessica, and two close friends, Laura Smith, whom she has known from being two years old, and Claire Bury, the wife of Anthony’s best man, Matthew Bury. Her brother, Jack Horne, and Anthony’s brother Thomas Hoyle were the ushers.

The reception was held at Stirk House, Gisburn, and the wedding party was joined by friends for an evening party.

Anthony and Jenna are having a short honeymoon in Windermere and plan to have a family holiday with George in Crete in the summer.
