Braving the shave for cancer battle

At a public event at Byerden House Socialist Society Club on Friday, September 16th, Sean Pennington (22), will have his head shaved and his body waxed, with other, less hirsute activities including a buffet, a disco and a raffle, tickets for which are included in the price for admission (£2 adults, £1 children, £5 family).

Sean, of Grey Street, who is still seeking businesses keen to offer their own sponsorship and support, will also welcome special guest speaker, Jackie Robinson, who is supported by Macmillan and who will speak of her experiences.

Sean, who knows the tragedy of losing those close to him to cancer all too well, said the main reason behind the event was definitely family members, having lost an aunt and two grandparents to cancer.
